Making The Titles and Background

www.orgazmatron-harlow.webs.com

Once I got all the basic information I wanted down on the site I started experimenting with the titles and backgrounds to see how professional I could make the site look. Firstly I experimented with the headlines and footers available from the website just to see what outcome it had. I found that the outcome looked a bit cheap as I could only have access to plain fonts over an already available photograph. To improve this I choose an interesting font on my laptop and using Microsoft paint I copied the font onto the image the title is printed on to make the title slightly more interesting.

Photobucket

To get this image onto the website I uploaded the title on my account on ‘photobucket’ and copied and pasted the HTML embedding code onto the title box on my website. So that my background image I created didn’t clash with the already available I changed the layout to a plain black layout which gave me a blank canvas to work with. Once I did this I felt that I achieved a much more effective title to the website.
I had changed my mind on have the plain black background as I felt it gave off a ‘cheap’ image to the page. As if no effort was put into creating it which I knew the band wouldn’t like. As I had completed my hand drawn poster for the band I thought I could try and combine that with my website. I took photographs on my digital camera of the poster to see if I can make my website background and title more original. Once I added the image to the computer I cut together all the interesting parts of the poster together as a banner so that I could replace the whole title with it. I found the title was quite eye catching and effective in advertising the band name and our promotion company. Using the same process as my last title I uploaded the picture onto my photobucket account then copied the HTML code onto the title.

Photobucket

As the photographs came up quite large I thought it would be impressive to have a part of the poster to each page, when I did this I felt the page brimmed with excitement and colour. The only problem was that the title now vanished a little into the background and the whole page looked a bit too ‘busy’ and thick with detail.

Photobucket

I passed the website through the band and I found that the background wasn’t popular with the band who wanted to go for a more ’sophisticated’ look so I scrapped the idea and decided to experiment again with the black. Lucy at this point had completed the EP cover she made for the group so they could sell their music at our gig. Her work proved popular with the group so I took that image and aligned it in the centre of a black background so that the group had a website they appealed to whilst making the page more original to our promotion group.
